to overcome the problems that we face,
just the familiar ones; honest search for understanding,
education, organization, action that raises the cost of state violence

Härnösand -> Stockholm

And so I have completed the first step.
Two weeks were spent in Härnösand at the SIDA-civil society center studying Spanish. Altough intense and exhausting it has been two very rewarding weeks in many ways. Encouters with people of diverse backgrounds, discussions and seminars on the social, political situation in many countries in Latin America and last but not least, the many wonderful revelations in the spanish grammar world ;)

Now however, due to to the lack of sleep that comes with studying a lot, I´ve gotten a cold. As if it was not enough preparing to inject 5 different vaccins into your body :/

Tomorrow the preparation course of four weeks, arranged by UBV, will begin in Stockholm. I am truly excited to meet the rest of the "crew" and to get more information on the forms of our mission and the campaign "Rent Mjöl", wich will focus on Food-soveregnity and it´s relation to trade. Currently trade-negotiations are held between the European Union and some countries in Central America and South America. Amongst them Honduras.
It is called an Association Agreement, and the current focus is to intergrate the two markets and open up for trade exchange. What is controversial with this agreement, now on the negotiating table, is the fact that many of the issues that developing countries (of which many in Latin America) have objected in the WTO, world trade organization, have reappeared here in the AA.
One example is the liberalization of the service sector with effects in areas such as health care, education and water-distribution.
As always these are very complex issues and more updates are to be expected :)

That was all for now.
